Post Cambodia

My three months in the country may be done, but the impact will always remain in my heart. Please continue to support the Cambodia Mission and check in on the things happening by going to this website. God continues to do great things throughout the Country. We can’t stop now.

In April 2022, God closed a door to what I thought my life would be. However, this closed door led me to work another summer for Group Mission Trips. Throughout the summer, I met incredible youth and leaders. Week after week, I could pour into the youth and have great leaders pour into me.

The leaders would encourage me and let me know they could see me in various ministry roles. I never thought I would do International Ministry. I thought I knew where I wanted to head next; it was NOT out of the country. I was lost for a few weeks when I came home after the summer. But I kept praying, “Not my will, but yours be done.”

I began applying for the different things youth leaders felt I could do. Ministry training, work with World Vision, A Christian Ministry in the National Parks, YWAM, and last on my list, Adventures in Missions Cambodia. I told God, I’m going to apply for this, but I don’t want to leave the United States thank you. But before I knew it, I was interviewing and liking it. The people started my interview with prayer, and it was evident Jesus was a part of the whole process. They moved me forward to meet the missionaries living in Cambodia, Shannon and Vikki Bobb, and that’s when everything became a reality.

My first meeting with the Bobbs was wonderful. They were kind, Holy Spirit-filled, and dedicated to their mission work. It was meant for me, and God had led me to them. I didn’t tell them yes right away, but I knew I would. So now, even though I repeatedly said I wouldn’t leave the country, I am going to Cambodia in January.

While in Cambodia, I will work on a variety of projects. Primarily, I will visit villages with the Bobbs every week. I get to meet the people and grow my understanding of the culture. But the real God piece is how many of my tasks will reflect the gifts God has given me. I get to use my degree in agriculture education to help the people understand food and how to grow it well to take care of themselves.

Additionally, I get to use my writing skills to tell the story of what the Bobbs are doing. They truly make a difference in allowing the Gospel to reach the unreached. The work God is doing in Siem Reap matters, and I get to see it happen.

To get to Cambodia, I need your help. With air travel, lodging, and food expenses, I need to raise $5,600. I’m doing my part by working weekly as a full-time sub, cutting out subscriptions and Starbucks coffee runs. I’m buying soil test kits to take with me and aiming to raise at least $1,000 of my own money. I want to be personally invested in this experience too.
